It's snowing...

Once again it is snowing, a lot this time, but with the temperature above 0 degrees, it is no fun!!! Especially since I wanted to go to Ikea today because they are lancing Christmas trees and I also wanted to order my new bed. But to go to Ikea you have to pass the Ceneri mountains and that's a no go with this weather. There have already been several accidents!

Going shopping in town isn't an option, either, because the wet snow is more than ankle-deep and it never stops snow-raining. I have no shoes and no coat for that kind of weather. I am slightly frustrated. I do not enjoy spending all weekend inside!!! If only the temperature dropped a bit (we got 4 degrees currently) so that it would stop raining on the snow and it would all stay!!! We would have two meters of snow in no time!

Well, Nico just returned and also cancelled the alternative trip to Tenero because the car is slipping on the streets... arghhhhhhhhh!!!

Happy birthday, Kleiner!

Mein Bruder ist genau neun Jahr jünger als ich. Er ist 87 geboren und ich 78. Und heute ist sein Geburtstag... klein ist er jetzt nicht mehr auch wenn ich ihn noch vor mir sehe wie er im Waschbecken schwimmt wie ein kleiner Frosch oder freudestrahlend seine ersten Schritte macht. Oh, ja, und nicht zu vergessen die Mülleimerinbransteckgeschichte und Zireinerseegesänge... und ausserdem hat er mehr Spielzeugleichen auf dem Gewissen als mein anderer Bruder und ich zusammen.

Raterunde: Was war wirklich gemeint?

Yay!!!

Erster Schultag im neuen Jahr und als ich dann vor dem CPL stand und gewartet hab, dass alle aufstehen und fertig sind, hab ich gedacht, ja!!!! Ich will hier sein, ich hab diese Schüler total lieb und ich hab sie vermisst!!! Sie haben auch total schön gearbeitet und es war eine entspannte Atmosphäre.

Später hab ich noch ewig lange vorbereitet, irgendwie lief es nicht mehr so schnell wie vor den Ferien, aber dafür kam dann irgendwann eine Schwester (Nonne) herein und wir haben erst ein bisschen auf italienisch geredet und dann auf Deutsch (sie war total süss und meinte sie müsste mehr Italienisch sprechen). Sie beaufsichtigt meinen Kurs im Studium (Lernzeit) und meinte, sie strengen sich wirklich an und haben gut Deutsch gelernt und man merkt, dass sie mich mögen. Sie hat gesagt, man merkt, dass ich eine gute Lehrerin sei.

Freu!!!! Das war ein Lob, das wirklich im richtigen Moment kam, weil ich nächste Woche Montag Unterrichtsbesuch von der Direktorin bekomme. Ist so üblich in den ersten Jahren an der Schule. Sie hat mich ja auch schon unterrichten gesehen als ich die Probelektion gemacht habe und mich daraufhin eingestellt, und schlechter bin ich sicher nicht geworden, aber trotzdem macht es mich nervös.

Ich bekomme überhaupt sehr viel positives Feedback, immer wieder von allen Seiten, total krass. Ich glaube es ist auch deswegen, dass ich immer noch total motiviert bin und es mir Spass macht zu unterrichten. Es ist irgendwie "meins". Ich hoffe, dieses Gefühl geht nie weg und dass ich am Montag nicht ausgerechnet ne total schlechte Stunde hab!!!

RE?

Ich hab grade ein "RE" gesehen! Hier in Bellinzona, mitten im Winter! Verrückt! Ich war grade auf dem Weg einen kleinen Spaziergang zu machen- die Sonne schien so schön auf den Schnee- da fuhr es an mir vorbei.

Mein Spaziergang war ziemlich rutschig da die Strassen irgendwie alle gar nicht gestreut waren und in der Sonne der Schnee getaut und teilweise auf der Strasse wieder gefroren war. Eigentlich wollte ich rauf bis zum Castello Sasso Corbaro aber aufgrund der Unfallgefahr bin ich dann über Montebello wieder runtergeschlittert und durch die Stadt nach Hause geschlendert.

Da kamen mir auch zwei entgegen die ziemlich Deutsch aussahen und die Frau meinte dann zu ihrem Mann "Da siehste gar nix." Hörte sich ziemlich nach RE an. Hehe. In Bellinzona sieht man um diese Uhrzeit wirklich gar nichts weil die Sonne so tief steht und alles spiegelt. Zuerst hab ich gedacht, ich frag die ob das ihr Auto war aber dann hatte ich doch keine Lust...

Ich musste schliesslich grade zwei Wochen lang kein Deutsch reden und hab viel Italienisch gelernt. Ab morgen muss ich dann ja wieder jeden Tag Deutsch reden... Meine ersten Weihnachtsferien als Lehrerin sind vorbei! Jetzt müssen wir die letzten Arbeiten schreiben, Noten machen, Konferenzen usw. Aber in vier Wochen gibt's schon wieder Ferien- Karneval! Da will ich unbedingt für eine Woche nach Vigera, aber weiss noch nicht ob das klappt!

Capodanno in Liguria

Sunday we decided spontaneously to make a trip for new years. We thought that Ginna Nanina was at Milano for San Silvestro but instead she went to Genova. Therefore we decided to go down to Genova. It's only 2 to 3 hours from here, depending on the traffic. In fact, it is much closer than Amsterdam is to Münster, which was a strange thought for me somehow.

Well, we fed the cat and left him all by himself in the apartment- which isn't much of a problem as in Ticino at midnight there are no fireworks. We went to Como then took the A7 Milano-Genova, which crosses all of the Pianura Padana, the industrial North of Italy which in winter seems so much like Germany!!! After Milano we got the thickest of fog, you could only see a couple of trees and that was that.

Then we reached the mountains near Genova. The landscape changed and there were more and more olive trees and palms. (Here we got a lot of them but around Milano the vegetation is a lot more like it is in Germany.) After about a gazillion of tunnels we finally reached the Mediterranean Sea! It was soooooo beautiful! We went down on the beach at Recco S. to watch the sunset and take a couple of fotos (they are all in the album).

Then we went down along the coast until we reached Rapallo where we found a one star hotel that was actually closed but we got a room anyway. It was really an ok room with two beds and a small bathroom. We went for a long walk "lungomare" (along the sea) and around midnight returned in piazza to celebrate. It was awesome celebrating near the sea. It was also much warmer (9-11 degrees Celsius)!

Genova

Or Genoa, a city of huge dimensions and with a huge port! This is a photo made from a reconstructed pirate ship. We arrived at Genoa around midday and miraculously managed to park in the city center! Later we found out why-- all the stores were closed for the first of January only the Acquarium was open and fortunately also a restaurant in the same "building". It is much more a giant ship than a building. I had some insalata di mare di Genova which was a bit different from how they eat it here-- the frutta di mare was very fresh (almost alive, hehe)... and it was made with potatoes and cornichrons (I don't remind what they're called in English)... It was very good!!!!

After Genova we took the car and went home. Momo was very happy to see us and purred and was very "kitten"-like.
